Fromal’s Record Projection: 40-42 The Bet: Hammer the under The Philadelphia 76ers appear on track to one day become the best team in the Eastern Conference. But let’s not by expecting too much, too 16, make an air of disappointment.
Vegas, likely capitalizing on the excitement that surrounds all the future stars, is currently doing so. Betting under is one of the year sports bets.
Joel Embiid is not guaranteed to keep healthy. Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons have played at a combined zero games. The rest of the roster is laden with upside, but they are by no means sure to break through and produce strongly positive benefits in 2017-18.
Lest we forget, the Sixers went 28-54 throughout the 2016-17 season. If you bet the above, you are counting on a minimum of a 15-game improvement, and that is quite a lot to ask.
Of course, arguments exist to the contrary. Philadelphia had numerous turnover issues last year which counting on two rookie playmakers to direct the charge is not actually an issue. It won 28 games with Embiid only suiting up 31 times, and both numbers are likely to trend up moving forward, particularly with more thickness surrounding the gifted center.
But incremental improvement remains far more probable than a massive leap from deep from the lottery to above .500.
